What I think about online learning

Online Learning. Truthfully not a fan. I find myself working a lot on this class in general than on the rest of my classes. Some aspects of this class is really great. I like exploring the different resources to use later and reading about technology is other classes and how its working, but I'm a learner that needs a lecture. At least that's what I've decided.

But then I think about how this class would be in a classroom setting and truthfully I think this is the way to do this class. There would be a lot more work if there was a lecture and then we had to go and look at all the resources and articles. I guess I just have to get my self out of the "normal" classroom setting and expand my mind to how technology is changing the classroom.

I do find that I need to make time to sit down and get all the parts complete to insure I have finished the weeks assignments. The 2nd week I did not do that and missed the lab that we were to complete since I was skipping back and forth on the different assignments.

Overall I guess its not a bad idea to have an online class. Will I take another? Most likely. Especially if technology keeps growing like it is now.

Student Ambassador and more...

I know my 1st thought was to post everyday, but then I was thinking nothing that great goes on in my life everyday....lol

I am now a Student Ambassador! I'll be giving tours, helping with large events, and doing Q&A periods. I'm so excited, but a bit nervous to get all the information straight to tell my groups. But so so excited to do a tour! GV pride!

1st week of religious ed tomorrow at 9:30am..I think. I better figure that out so I'm not late.

Things just seem to be falling into place, religious ed, student ambassadors, tutoring hours for class, all but a job. I need one so bad and no one is hiring. Its so stressful. But then I have the good things that come along with all the stress of the week, like today hanging with Morgan and a picture from my bud and Kim. (was trying to scan it into my computer so put up...but its not working)

We signed up to be Student Ambassadors! We're going to be giving tours and helping with other things that come along with tours. We're so excited! Can you tell?

One Time.....

Michelle made to youtube this kid, Justin Bieber who sings this new awesome song "One Time" which is really good. I understand now why she loves it! Anyway it reminds me of my cousin...I know weird, but seriously him with all his girl friends and he's only 14.

Anyway, I made this list today in class of stuff I wanted to complete..by the way I need to go check and switch my laundry be back. (10:16pm)

(10:22) Well half of it is done. I started laundry today at 1pm, you can tell I got sidetracked. Well I fell asleep watching Bros and Sisters, and then my phone turned off all by it self for the 2nd time today and I slept thru my alarm. Then I had some dinner and meet Michelle to go to SECE (or whatever the letters are..idk) meeting, for future teachers. Then we went to Meijer.

Other than that I accomplished very little on my list, so I guess the list gets extened til tomorrow.

So I found something today that reminded me of my past. And it actually wasn't from that long ago. The pocket of my silver purse was open, it must have been an omen or something cuz when I stuck my heand in it to see what was inside, I was kinda shocked. I had been thinking about work the last couple of day. Work to me will always be YCA and my bosses will always be Dina and Jerry....lol. So when I pulled my hand back out of the pocket I was holding a piece of paper that I had written my schedule on. I can kinda remember writing it, I think it was from Feburary, and the funny thing was I know I rewrote that schedule every week cuz I miss placed it. Anyway, it just kinda brought back memories.

My Monday List
Vaccum Room/Stairs
Do Laundry
Active Debit Card
Balance both Check Books
Email people (3 or 4 total)
Look over letter for Religious Ed and send to Mary to read
Read
Send some letters
Clean off Desk!
Sweep the porch

As you can tell I was trying to just write stuff at the end, who would want to sweep the porch. lol

Brothers and Sisters 2weeks!!!!

Can't wait for Brothers and Sisters cuz of these two...they are so cute!

Getting into my head...

Not much to blog about today.

Mass- we painted our hands for a banner to decorate the worship space with the kids and religious ed teachers.

Then I took a nap and watched Ice Princess...love that movie! But ended up falling asleep to it.

Haven't talked to my BFF since she left in early July, the night we packed all her stuff. Missing hanging out with her.

Thinking about mailing some stuff to some cuties :)

Want to email some past teachers to update them on what I've been up to. Some may think this is weird, but going into Education one day I want to be able to have people who are in the biz be able to help me. Support, References, Ideas...ect!

Would rather be writing a welcome letter for the 1st week of Religious Ed than doing my homework, but I'm gonna make that my reward for finishing.

Can't figure out how to do my Psychology mask...what ever that is.

Gonna be watching a movie and reading now....hopefully.

Going to the Allendale Public Library tomorrow with Morgan and Jessica.

Off to attempt some homework!

So Battle of the Valleys or BOTV for short is over! But guess what, go figure GVSU kicked some Cardinal butt!

A bunch of us got to Michelle and Rachel's to walk over together, Nicole, Ana, Morgan, Jessica, Kristen, Michelle V and I. We all decided that we wouldn't need our sweatshirts and that shorts would be the best to wear....well it was until the 3rd quarter! I guess we weren't thinking lol. We still had a lot of fun and rowed a gazillion times. Final score, 38-7!

Anyway, now I'm sitting here with Morgan and Jessica watching Dirty Dancing Havan Nights! I love this movie. And we ordered pizza.

Early morning tomorrow. Its Meet n Greet with the Religious Ed students, we're gonna do some hand painting. It should be interesting.

Until later.......<3

So went downtown with some friends tonite to see some fireworks....they were pretty cool. Then the bus ride.....................................It was bad. We all grabbed the Eastbound that does an extra 30 min vs. the Westbound that would have already done that part of the route, and we stood the whole time. The worse part was that the Westbound bus was literally 3 min behind the other bus since our bus was late. Finally we were heading Westbound, and freezing---my nose was as cold as if it was December! After another 30 min or so we were back to our familiar settings and ready to get to bed for the biggest game of the year tomorrow!!!!!

BATTLE OF THE VALLEYS!!!!

Mandi and I are rivals tomorrow!!! and we are looking forward to taking a pic with us wearing our battle shirts. (Look for it in a up and coming post.)

BATTLE OF THE VALLEYS!!!!

September 12th at 7pm, GVSU will take down SVSU!

Heaven is Face......

My new favorite song comes from Steven Curtis Chapman, "Heaven is Face," about his young Chinese daughter, Maria Sue, who was killed just under 18months ago in the family's driveway. The song is all about Maria which is very cute, but if you know the full story of her life and death it is quite sad. Though very uplifting since Chapman said he would never sing again after his daughter's death, until now that is. Check it out!

Life in the Fast Lane

Actually this title should be for a friend, but I had to do it. lol Love u.

Anyway, Its Battle of the Valley's week. Which means, t-shirts, special events and a football game on Saturday! The slogan this year--Chew 'em up, and Spit 'em Out! And its gonna happen!

Tonight, St. Luke's kicked off the Religious Ed Program with a teacher meeting. New teachers and new ways of doing things. Changes! Some will end up being good while others will come and go. But Looking forward to 2nd grade again, with the special sacraments.

I just realized that along with this blog for my class I have to also do the assignments online, that are due on Friday at 10pm. I guess thats what I'll be up to tomorrow before class and after.

1st Day of School, Rainforest Cafe, and Driving

I miss the 1st day excitement but eventually I'll have all the 1st days ever. Some little people were excited to see me come get them from school and persuaded me to go to lunch with them. So I changed my plans and went out to the Rainforest Cafe with the Johnsons and Walkers. Then it was time to hit the road and get back here to unpack and do some homework before Campus Life Night, well thats all just starting to happen and Campus Life Night has come and went. So I did it out of order....oh well. Still really need to unpack and do some reading and organizing some papers for classes tomorrow. But I'll get to that soon, most likely the cleaning will happen tomorrow....lol. Til Later <3

PS Me and Maggie at Rainforest Cafe---she wasn't so thrilled when the thunderstorms happened and the animals came alive, but it was fun. (Picture taken by Mel)

'Last weekend of Summer'

Wow....did I pack it in this weekend. Home Friday at 7:30pm, up at 9am and running errands. Then it was off to the Family Corn Roast! Yey! I had so much fun. Of course it was fun with Lindsay and Corie there. That was a late night, and a lazy morning/mid afternoon. Saw the new camper and packed all the stuff into it for storage. Then it was off to the Sonntags for some Camping Group catch-up.. where my car got pinned into the driveway and I had to take the Suburban home! yikes....where Val and Laura meet us to do some tie dye and check out the camper for a sleep over! We missed MAR TONS!!!!!! but Val is so much like her, it felt like she was there. Today, not really sure what I did. O yeah! Romeo Peach Parade with the cousins and Jillian. Cheered for the HFII Band! Then had a lazy night. Back to school in the afternoon tomorrow to see my friends! And the weekly stress of homework and assignments will set in. Til later <3
