Jack Frost has come to nip at our noses. And I love every but of it. (Well most of it) I am having a Lorelai Gilmore kind of mood towards snow. I can smell when it is coming, I look forward to the white fluff falling on the ground and love the sparkle that it brings to most people and the ground. While I love the snow I also am now well aware I need to be wearing boots even if they are ugly. There is a reason for boots.
1. They are warm.
2. They keep most people from slipping
and
3. They were made to be wore
I on the other hand, decided on the convenient way when I was running out the door this morning. CROCS! Crocs are not winter reliable! Take my word for it. They may be warm and easy to put on, but they make you slip and slide and when you step in a big COLD wet ice puddle the fur absorbs the water and my feet stay wet all day!
While snow for me made my day a little bit uneasy, snow for so many little ones makes their eyes glisten. The hallways at Evergreen Elementary were packed and loud when I walked in for my tutor session. The students were all bundled up, ready to play in the snow during recess. They had their boots, their gloves, hats and snow pants all on. Trying to keep their feet dry when they were changing their shoes was their big challenge, yet they were all smiles. Because, of SNOW.
(Both these are from Winter 2008, just before Thanksgiving, yet they do the justice)
Snow and I are on a good relationship now, since I am admiring it while sitting in my jammies in my fuzzy socks.
Until Later Enjoy the Snow!
